Questions

The things people ask Cosi.

Do I need to download an app from the app store?

No. Friends With Benefits runs in your phone's browser. Open Settings inside the app and tap Install FWB to add it to your home screen so it opens like any other app.

How do I use an offer at a shop or cafe?

Open the offer, tap Redeem now and show the green screen to staff. It stays live for five minutes so there's no rush at the counter.

Can my husband, wife or friend use my membership?

Membership is for one person, with your name on the card. Many offers cover a table though, like kids eat free or a free schooner with a main, so the whole family still wins.

Where's my Drakes voucher?

In your Wallet under Active, from the moment you join. Show it at the Drakes checkout the same way you'd show any other offer.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time from Manage subscription in Settings. You keep your offers until the end of the period you've paid for.

I'm going interstate or on holiday. Does it still work?

Your membership works wherever there's a partner business. Most are in South Australia, and the Nearby tab shows what's close when you turn location on.

What this redesign changes

A working prototype, not a picture. Open it on a phone and a desktop, tap through, and everything you'd expect to work does.

  1. A front door that sells the membershipToday the web address drops straight into the app with no explanation. The new public page tells people what FWB is, what it costs and why to join, then hands them to the app.
  2. Built for thumbs firstBigger tap targets, bigger type, one clear action per screen, and My Card sitting in the middle of the bottom bar where a thumb naturally lands.
  3. Cards you can read at a glanceThe deal in big type, the venue underneath, the distance on the right once location is on. Same card on the public page and in the app.
  4. Hot offers look like tickets because they areWhat you see on the home screen is what turns up in your Wallet and gets scanned at the door.
  5. A redeem flow staff understandConfirm, then a green screen with a five minute timer, the member's name and a code. No arguing at the counter.
  6. Membership card in Apple or Google WalletThe QR card can live alongside their bank cards, so it's there even when the browser isn't.
  7. Desktop that uses the spaceA sidebar and grid instead of a stretched phone layout, so the same code works on a laptop at home.
  8. Keeps Cosi's brandHis red, his blue and his condensed type, tightened up. The logo shown here is a stand in for the real logo file, and every image tile is a placeholder that his photos drop straight into.

Notifications members actually receiveA proper notifications centre, push alerts with a clear on switch and a test ping, per type preferences so nobody gets spammed, and email as the fallback for comps. On iPhone push only works once FWB is installed to the home screen, so the app says so and nudges people to do it. See notification settings
  11. Never miss a comp againA closing soon strip on the home screen, one tap entry with a confirmation, and a reminder the day before a comp closes.
  12. Your savings, runningEvery redemption has a value. My Card and Wallet history add them up against what the membership has cost, which is the best answer to "is this still worth $10 a month". See it on My Card
